At the beginnig of April MARIBO MAERSK, one of Maersk Triple E class container ships arrived to Gdansk.
Her gross tonnage is 194849 and deadweight is 213971. MARIBO MAERSK was built in 2014. MARIBO MAERSK length overall (LOA) is 399.2 m, beam is 59 m. Her container capacity is 18270 TEU. The current draught of MARIBO MAERSK as reported by AIS is 16.4 meters.
„Triple E” symbolizes 3 main premises accompanying to ship designers: Economy – economics resulting from the size and transport capacity, Energy -new technologies allowing significant energy savings during operation and Environmentally improved – an environmentally friendly solution and low exhaust emissions.
We had an opportunity to visit Maribo during reloading operations at DCT Gdansk courtesy of our friends from Maersk Line. The crew showed us around ship deck and ship’s bridge as they work daily. We have seen reloading process from the bridge’s side. Size scale and speed of everything takes place is impossible to be shown at the pictures, however check our photos!
